Wrestler Chris Jericho's hate speech toward Sac's Mr. Lobo makes TMZ
This is a weird little Sacto story making waves over at TMZ.
Mr. Lobo hosted this year’s Sacramento Horror Film Festival at the Colonial Theater a couple weeks back; here’s a photo I snapped of him during Saturday’s festivities:
Anyway, TMZ reported that WWE wrestler Chris Jericho, who appeared at the fest to promote a film, called Lobo a “fag” and a racist Middle Eastern slur a Q-and-A session after the film. Here’s the video:
Anyway, TMZ contacted Jericho, who apologized.
But the plot thickens: Lobo finds said TMZ story online and says Jericho’s side—that everyone was having fun during the interview and they shared drinks afterward—is a crock. Here’s what Lobo said on TMZ:
“Mr. Lobo — the guy who hosted the film festival — says despite Jericho’s claim that ‘everyone on stage was having a blast,’ he was deeply offended by the insensitive remarks and calls Jericho’s statement a ‘complete fabrication.’
Lobo claims Jericho never apologized to him and added, ‘I don’t think [Chris] has the capacity to give an honest apology. I don’t think it’s in his character.’”
Jericho’s obviously drunk in the video; Lobo actually grabs his drink and samples a sip, which prompted the wrestler to quip, “It’s apple juice, fag.”
I don’t know how Lobo kept his cool; it it was me, I’d have been all up in that drunk fuck’s business.
And, in fact, I’d like to see a rematch: Lobo vs. Jericho. Lobo’s a husky bro, I’m sure he could make it interesting—not to mention that he’s likely got the motivation to retaliate?
